Rashid Meredov Met with Newly Appointed German Ambassador Petra Dachtler


Turkmen Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov met in Ashgabat with newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federal Republic of Germany, Petra Dachtler, who presented copies of her credentials. The head of the Foreign Ministry congratulated the diplomat on the start of her work and expressed confidence in the further strengthening of bilateral dialogue.
The two sides focused on developing political, trade, economic, cultural, and humanitarian ties, emphasizing that high-level contacts remain the key impetus for their growth. They also noted the highly productive nature of the two countries' interactions in multilateral formats—within the UN, the European Union, and within the Central Asia-Germany regional platform.

In the economic sphere, the diplomats highlighted the long-standing fruitful nature of their partnership and the key role of the Committee on Eastern European Economic Relations (CEE) in expanding business contacts. In addition, the meeting outlined steps to deepen joint projects in the fields of healthcare, education and culture.
