Turkmenistan's Foreign Ministry Held Meetings with the Outgoing EU and French Ambassadors


Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov held talks with Beata Peksa, Head of the European Union Delegation, and Philippe Merlin, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of France, who are concluding their diplomatic missions in Ashgabat. During the meetings, the Turkmen side expressed gratitude to the diplomats for their significant contribution to strengthening multifaceted cooperation and developing friendly ties.
The discussion with Beata Peksa, Head of the EU Delegation, covered a wide range of bilateral and regional dialogue, including political, economic, transport, energy, and cultural areas. The interlocutors noted the high impact of joint programs in the areas of rule of law, human rights protection, digitalization, ecology, and private sector support, and emphasized the strategic importance of the EU-Central Asia integration format.

At the meeting with French Ambassador Philippe Merlin, key attention was paid to the dynamics of developing ties and the role of high-level contacts. The parties considered trade and economic cooperation as a priority area of partnership, highlighting joint initiatives in the agricultural sector, water management, and green technologies, and commended the long-standing experience of humanitarian cooperation.
