A New Master’s Degree Programme Was Opened at the State Energy Institute of Turkmenistan


Starting from the 2026–2027 academic year, the State Energy Institute of Turkmenistan will launch a new master’s degree programme — “Economics and Management of the Fuel and Energy Complex.” The programme is designed to train a new generation of specialists capable of managing the energy sector while taking into account digital technologies and environmental considerations.
The first 20 master’s students will study industry economics, management, law and innovative ESG strategies (principles of environmental and social responsibility in business). The programme was developed with the participation of the institute in the ESGCA project of the European Union’s Erasmus+ programme. As part of this cooperation, a dedicated ESGCA Centre equipped with modern facilities for scientific research will also be opened at the university.
The programme is focused on practical training and the needs of the modern labour market. Master’s students will undertake practical training at the Renewable Energy Sources research and production centre and at enterprises of the Ministry of Energy of Turkmenistan.
Graduates of the programme will be able to work in the divisions of the Turkmenenergo State Electric Power Corporation, relevant government agencies, research institutes and educational institutions. Their professional activities will include financial planning, improving energy efficiency, promoting the green economy and managing resources within the fuel and energy sector.
