Microsoft has reviewed the development of the Windows on Arm platform over the past year and announced a major expansion of the ecosystem.

One of the key developments will be the arrival of Nvidia RTX Spark processors, which will join Qualcomm Snapdragon X chips in next-generation devices.

The first Arm-based computers powered by Nvidia chips are expected to go on sale in autumn 2026. New devices will be released by leading global manufacturers, including Microsoft Surface, Asus, Dell, HP, Lenovo and MSI. The move is aimed at meeting the growing demand for high-performance and energy-efficient PCs.

At the same time, Microsoft is addressing the key issue of software compatibility. Over the past year, most popular applications for work, education, security and content creation have gained native Arm support. To help users check compatibility, the company launched a dedicated service called Works on WOA, whose database already contains more than 7,000 Arm-compatible applications, including Signal, Discord and Proton Mail.

Software that does not yet have a native Arm version now runs reliably through the updated Prism emulator. Microsoft emphasizes that Windows on Arm has finally moved beyond the experimental stage and has become a fully fledged, rapidly growing ecosystem.
