Serdar Berdimuhamedov Received Tajikistan's Foreign Minister, Sirojiddin Mukhriddin
On August 20, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov received Tajikistan's Foreign Minister, Sirojiddin Mukhriddin, who was visiting Turkmenistan.
The head of Tajikistan's diplomatic mission conveyed greetings from President Emomali Rahmon, emphasizing that strengthening ties with Turkmenistan remains a key foreign policy priority for Dushanbe. President Berdimuhamedov reciprocated with best wishes to Tajikistan's top leadership and expressed confidence that the current visit would provide a powerful impetus to expanding the bilateral strategic partnership.
During the meeting, a high level of active interaction was noted both bilaterally and within international organizations—the UN, CIS, ECO, and the "Central Asia Plus" format. The head of state emphasized that, as part of Turkmenistan's CIS chairmanship this year, the Avaza National Tourist Zone is planning to host the CIS Council of Heads of State and the Consultative Meeting of the Leaders of Central Asian Countries and Azerbaijan, marking a new step in strengthening regional dialogue.
In the area of trade and economic cooperation, a key role was assigned to the work of the Joint Turkmen-Tajik Intergovernmental Commission. President Serdar Berdimuhamedov highlighted the significant potential for expanding cooperation in energy, transport, and agriculture. The two leaders also reaffirmed their commitment to deep cultural and humanitarian interaction based on the historical and spiritual commonality of the two peoples.
