Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan Held a Series of Diplomatic Meetings on the Sidelines of the Forum in Avaza
On August 12, Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov held a series of bilateral meetings in Avaza with heads of diplomatic missions and representative offices of international organizations. The talks took place on the sidelines of the international conference "Protection of the Caspian Sea Ecosystem: Regional Cooperation and Sustainable Development," timed to Caspian Sea Day.
During a meeting with European Union Ambassador Beata Peksa, the current state and prospects of Turkmen-European cooperation were discussed, emphasizing the importance of regular political dialogue and joint initiatives to protect the Caspian environment.
The Foreign Minister discussed promoting the country's international initiatives within the UN and coordinating joint activities with UN Resident Coordinator in Turkmenistan Xiaojun Grace Wang, also emphasizing the importance of combining efforts to ensure the region's environmental sustainability.
At a meeting with William Leaf, Head of the OSCE Centre in Ashgabat, key attention was paid to regional security, humanitarian, and economic-environmental cooperation, with a focus on protecting the Caspian Sea ecosystem.
Practical partnership areas in migration management and protecting migrants' rights, taking environmental factors into account, were identified during talks with Serhan Aktoprak, Coordinator for Central Asia of the International Organization for Migration (IOM).
