Olympic city in Ashgabat was marked by world records
Two objects of the Olympic town in Ashgabat immediately made it to the pages of the Guinness Book of Records, the representatives of which have visited the facilities twice last spring.
The first time, in March, they made measurements of the "Horse" - a monumental and at the same time graceful in its outline structure towering the dome of the Olympic stadium, as if looking at it from above. It was recognized as the largest architectural symbol of the horse on the planet. Its height is 40.05 meters, and in width the structure reaches 40.24 meters.
The giant image in the stadium conveys the characteristic features of the exterior of the Akhal-Teke horse: a small head, a flexible neck, thin and widely spaced ears.
The image of the horse occupies a huge place in the Turkmen folk art, literature, crafts, where it often appears winged. If you look at the Olympic stadium from above - you can see that the white horse seems to embrace it with its mighty wings.
At the neck, the horse wears traditional decoration: there is even a separate direction in the Turkmen jewelry art; the best jewelers create luxurious leather dressing gowns made of silver and semiprecious stones for horses.
A snow-white horse and a golden bowl for the Olympic fire, stylized under the twigs of the yuzarlik (harmal) plant, especially revered by the Turkmen as a healing herb, which in old times was attributed to magical properties, is the brightest "chip" in the main arena of the Ashgabat Games 2017 Games.
Another object, which is fixed by the Book of World Records, is a complex of water sports. Its measurements for the relevant certification were carried out in April. The total area of its basins is 4,976.65 square meters. The stands can accommodate 5 thousand spectators.
The Water Sports Center of the Olympic town is recognized as the largest indoor water complex in the world, meeting modern requirements of international standards.
Not only individual objects, but the entire Olympic town in Ashgabat can be called a unique construction. It is impressive in size, arrangement, equipment, infrastructure, architectural style and interiors, but most importantly, it can serve as an excellent sports base.
