At the Heart of Global High-Tech: Turkmenistan Brings Its National AI Strategy to the Global Stage
From July 17 to 20, 2026, Shanghai, China, is hosting the World Artificial Intelligence Conference (WAIC 2026) alongside the High-Level Meeting on Global AI Governance.
This year's forum, held under the theme "AI Partnership for a Brighter Future," has attracted a record number of participants. The opening ceremony was attended by Chinese President Xi Jinping. The scale of the event is remarkable: the exhibition covers more than 100,000 square meters, bringing together over 1,400 experts and 1,100 innovative companies as speakers and exhibitors.
Turkmenistan is represented at this prestigious technology summit by a delegation led by Minister of Communications Hajymyrat Hudaygulyyev. The country's representatives emphasized that the visit reflects the consistent implementation of Turkmenistan's national digitalization strategy, in which artificial intelligence technologies are regarded as one of the country's key infrastructure priorities.
