The next meeting of the Commonwealth of Independent States Economic Council, attended by the Deputy Prime Ministers of the Commonwealth countries, will take place on June 26 in Moscow. The event will be chaired by Khodjamyrat Geldimyradov, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan.

The heads of delegations from the participating states will discuss a wide range of issues covering key areas of multilateral trade, economic, and investment cooperation within the CIS. As part of the coordinated agenda, members of the Economic Council will exchange views on the most pressing aspects of partnership and review in detail the preparation and conduct of the 2030 national population censuses in the Commonwealth countries.

The agenda for the upcoming meeting includes an in-depth analysis of the key target macroeconomic indicators for the CIS economies through 2025 and an assessment of the implementation of the action plan for the first stage of the Commonwealth Economic Development Strategy for the period up to 2030. Furthermore, the deputy prime ministers will discuss technological changes to the current interstate protocol on the exchange of electronic information to improve the efficiency of tax administration. Participants will also focus on joint projects and regulatory mechanisms in the areas of digitalization, labor regulation, coordination of veterinary and quarantine measures, and forestry.
