Uzbekistan’s Central Bank Will Issue Commemorative Coins Honoring the National Team’s Qualification for the 2026 FIFA World Cup
The Central Bank of Uzbekistan will issue special commemorative coins to celebrate the national football team’s participation in the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The coins are made of 999.9 fine gold and silver and commemorate Uzbekistan’s first-ever qualification for the FIFA World Cup.
The obverse of the coins features the logo of the Uzbekistan Football Association, a classic football, and the inscription: “Historic Victory. Uzbekistan Football at the 2026 World Cup.” These elements symbolize the national team’s first qualification for the tournament and a new chapter in the history of Uzbek football.
The design also incorporates the symbol of the national team, known among fans as the “White Wolves.” The reverse side depicts the silhouette of a wolf, which, according to the Central Bank, reflects the team spirit and character of the players. The symbol contains silhouettes of 26 players, emphasizing that this historic achievement was made possible through the unity and efforts of the entire squad.
The coins also feature patterns inspired by the national team’s kit. These ornaments are based on motifs found in ancient monuments and reflect the country’s rich history and culture.
A total of 100 gold coins and 1,000 silver coins, each weighing 31.1 grams, have been issued. The coins will be available in limited quantities.
Sales will begin on June 18 through 690 branches of commercial banks across the country. Information on prices and availability will be published daily on the Central Bank’s official website and social media pages.
The Central Bank had previously explained the procedure for purchasing commemorative coins. They are sold through commercial banks, and a buyback mechanism is also provided for collectors and owners.
