Turkmen Technology Company “Aýdyň Gijeler” Discusses Cooperation Approaches with Rothschild & Co in Tashkent

The 5th Anniversary International Investment Forum is being held in Tashkent from June 16 to 18, 2026, bringing together representatives of business communities from many countries around the world. A delegation of Turkmen businesses is also participating in the event.
One of the forum’s key events was the panel session titled “The Future of Corporate Governance,” where Baroness Ariel Malard de Rothschild, Global Partner of Rothschild & Co and Executive Chair for Central and Eastern Europe, delivered a speech.
In her remarks, she emphasized that the quality of management decisions, transparency of accountability, and a balance between public interests and commercial discipline are essential for attracting long-term investment. According to her, these factors transform corporate governance from a formal requirement into a genuine driver of growth for companies in emerging markets.
On the sidelines of the forum, a meeting took place between Hydyrberdi Abdurakhmanov, General Director of the business entity “Aýdyň Gijeler,” and Baroness Ariel Malard de Rothschild. “Aýdyň Gijeler” is one of the flagship enterprises of Turkmenistan’s electronics industry. The company was established in 2016 as part of the national policy aimed at developing domestic electronics manufacturing and operates under a public-private partnership model. Forty-nine percent of its shares are owned by the state through the Ministry of Industry and Construction Production, while the remaining 51 percent belong to private investors.
The company actively implements innovative technologies designed to substitute imported products and cooperates with more than 50 foreign organizations, including industry leaders such as Inspur Software Co., Ltd., China Electronic Corporation, and EastComPeace Technology Co.
During the meeting, the parties discussed practical approaches to cooperation between the Turkmen technology enterprise and Rothschild & Co. They exchanged views on potential formats of collaboration, taking into account both the needs of the developing Turkmen market and international experience in financial advisory services.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the participants exchanged business cards, indicating their intention to continue the dialogue and explore potential joint initiatives in greater detail.
The meeting became a logical continuation of the dialogue launched in September 2023 in Paris, where dozens of meetings and negotiations were held between the Turkmen delegation and French businesses, including Rothschild & Co, during an official visit to France. At that time, promising areas of cooperation were identified, particularly in the financial and banking sector.
It is worth noting that Rothschild & Co already has practical experience in the region. The bank has been involved in the restructuring of major state-owned assets in Uzbekistan, including preparations for the IPO of Uzbekneftegaz. This demonstrates the institution’s expertise in working with enterprises that have state ownership participation.
The meeting between Hydyrberdi Abdurakhmanov and representatives of Rothschild & Co, as well as the subsequent exchange of contacts, demonstrates that interest in cooperation is moving beyond the governmental level and into the sphere of direct engagement with the real sector of the economy.
The discussion of practical cooperation opportunities between a specific technology enterprise and one of the world’s leading investment banks opens a new chapter in business relations between Turkmenistan and the international financial community.
It also confirms that Turkmen businesses are actively seeking opportunities to attract international expertise and capital for the implementation of their strategic projects, while Rothschild & Co is prepared to consider such opportunities and build long-term partnerships.
