An Academic Conference Dedicated to the 35th Anniversary of Turkmenistan's Independence Was Held in Turkey
On June 11, the Embassy of Turkmenistan in the Republic of Turkey, together with Pamukkale University in Denizli, organized an academic conference to commemorate the 35th anniversary of Turkmenistan's independence and the proclamation of 2026 as the motto "Independent, Permanently Neutral Turkmenistan - the Homeland of Purposeful Winged Horses."
The event was attended by Pamukkale University Rector Professor and Doctor Mahmut Güngör, representatives of socio-political organizations, the creative and scientific community of the Republic of Turkey, students, and media representatives.
During the presentations, participants were informed of the significance of declaring 2026 the year of "Independent, Permanently Neutral Turkmenistan - the Homeland of Purposeful Winged Horses." It was emphasized that this motto reflects the country's commitment to the principles of independence, permanent neutrality, peace, and creation.
During the conference, participants discussed Turkmenistan's achievements since independence, its international initiatives based on its status of permanent neutrality, and prospects for the further development of Turkmen-Turkish relations in education, science, culture, and the economy.
On the same day, a photo exhibition dedicated to the proclamation of 2026 as the motto "Independent, Permanently Neutral Turkmenistan - the Homeland of Purposeful Winged Horses" opened in the city of Denizli.
Furthermore, as part of the events in Denizli, Turkmenistan's Ambassador to Turkey M. Ishangulyev held a series of meetings with Denizli Provincial Governor Yavuz Selim Köşger, Municipal Head Bülent Nuri Çavuşoğlu, and Pamukkale University Rector Mahmud Güngör.
During these meetings, prospects for developing cooperation in the educational, cultural, humanitarian, and trade and economic spheres were discussed, as well as strengthening friendly ties between Turkmenistan and the Republic of Turkey.
