On the sidelines of the 114th Session of the International Labor Conference in Geneva, a round of multilateral and bilateral meetings was held, confirming Turkmenistan's active role in shaping the new social partnership agenda. In this context, talks were held between the chairpersons of national trade union centers of Central Asian countries and the leadership of the International Labor Organization's Workers' Bureau (ACTRAV).

The meeting, also attended by delegations from Azerbaijan and Mongolia, served as an expert platform for synchronizing joint actions in the medium term. The central topic of discussion was preparations for a large-scale scientific and practical conference and meeting of trade union leaders from Central Asian countries and Azerbaijan, which will be held in Ashgabat this November. These forums will be a key stage in the implementation of the two-year Joint Action Plan for 2026–2027, signed in May between the ILO ACTRAV Bureau and the National Center of Trade Unions of Turkmenistan.

The Chairperson of the National Center of Trade Unions of Turkmenistan, Oguljennet Berdiliyeva, also held a working meeting with the Head of the Federation of Trade Unions of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Satybaldy Dauletalin. The parties discussed mechanisms for protecting labor rights and outlined concrete steps to strengthen collegial cooperation.

The practical outcome of this meeting was the agreement on the outlines of a future institutional agreement. The head of the Kazakhstan Federation invited Oguljennet Berdiliyeva to pay an official visit to Kazakhstan to sign a Memorandum of Understanding between the national trade union centers of the two countries. Furthermore, the Turkmen delegation received an invitation to participate in the upcoming regional trade union conference in Almaty.

The Geneva agreements clearly confirmed that Ashgabat is consistently translating its agreements with the ILO into genuine regional integration.
