Researchers from Texas A&M University have made a major breakthrough in anti-aging medicine by developing a unique nasal spray capable of slowing and reversing the biological aging process of the brain.

In a series of successful laboratory tests on living tissue, the experimental drug demonstrated the ability to radically reduce chronic microinflammation, which is the main cause of age-related nerve cell degeneration.

The spray directly affects the energy systems of neurons, restoring their cellular activity and improving cognitive function. According to the project's authors, nasal therapy allows molecules to quickly penetrate the protective barrier and deliver active ingredients directly to the affected areas. This new technology opens up fundamentally new horizons in the prevention of age-related memory impairment and the treatment of severe neurodegenerative diseases.

Scientists are confident that brain aging can be reversed, as the effect of treatment with a nasal spray based on extracellular vesicles occurred in laboratory animals after two doses and lasted for several months. The team has filed a US patent application.
