On behalf of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, Speaker of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan Dunyagozel Gulmanova accepted the credentials of the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Arab Republic of Egypt, Hamdi Shaaban Abdelhalim Mohamed. The official ceremony marked the beginning of a new stage in the development of relations between the two countries.
During the meeting, the Egyptian diplomat was briefed in detail on Turkmenistan's domestic and foreign policy priorities, as well as the Mejlis's efforts to improve the national legislative framework. The parties noted that exchanging legislative experience is an important tool for harmonizing bilateral relations and creating favorable conditions for business and cultural exchange.
The participants of the meeting placed particular emphasis on interaction within major international organizations, primarily the UN. It was emphasized that strengthening ties between parliamentarians of the two countries would provide a powerful impetus for intensifying not only political and diplomatic relations, but also trade and economic relations.
The Ambassador of Egypt assured of his readiness to make every effort to expand mutually beneficial cooperation, noting the scale of the reforms underway in Turkmenistan as a reliable foundation for joint projects.
