On March 21, 2026, a ceremonial event dedicated to the International Day of Nowruz was held at the Turkic World Cultural Center in the Topkapi district of Istanbul.
The event was attended by senior officials of the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, the diplomatic corps, international organizations accredited in the city, faculty members of higher education institutions, students, members of the Turkmen diaspora, as well as media representatives. Within the framework of the event, exhibitions showcasing national decorative and applied arts, cultural heritage, and traditional cuisine of the Republic of Türkiye, Turkmenistan, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, the Republic of Uzbekistan, and the Republic of Azerbaijan were organized.

The Consulate General of Turkmenistan in the Republic of Türkiye (Istanbul) arranged a thematic pavilion dedicated to the declaration of 2026 under the motto «Independent neutral Turkmenistan − the homeland of purposeful winged horses» as well as the 35th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s independence. The pavilion, designed in a national style, introduced visitors to the rich cultural heritage of Turkmenistan, including traditional attire, jewelry, carpet products, artworks, and souvenirs.

Cultural performances featuring national dances and musical compositions by artists from participating countries were presented during the event. Special emphasis was placed on the significance of the International Day of Nowruz as a symbol of peace, friendship, mutual understanding, and good-neighborliness among nations.
