In March 2026, a course for learning Russian as a foreign language (70 video lessons) for first-grade students of schools with the Turkmen language of instruction was published on the “Turkmenistan” news portal of the State Committee for Television, Radio Broadcasting and Cinematography of Turkmenistan.
The project is being implemented under the auspices of the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation and the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan. The educational materials were developed by Naberezhnye Chelny State Pedagogical University (NSPU) for public secondary schools, taking into account the national curriculum of Turkmenistan.
The video lessons are didactic materials for learning Russian are presented in a game-based format. Their content is aimed at developing lexical and grammatical skills and improving communicative competence in learning Russian as a foreign language, while also taking into account the age and psychological characteristics of the students. Each lesson lasts no more than 10–15 minutes, which reflects a health-preserving approach to teaching.
The lesson scripts were created by leading specialists of NSPU in the field of the Russian language. During the filming, the role of the teacher was performed by instructor and professional TV presenter A.S. Morozova. The video lessons were recorded in the studio of the D. I. Mendeleev Pedagogical Technopark “Kvantorium”.
All educational videos and their scripts were reviewed by the Federal State Budgetary Educational Institutions of Higher Education — Herzen State Pedagogical University of Russia and Moscow Pedagogical State University.
Work is currently ongoing to create similar video lessons for other grades of schools in Turkmenistan. The course is available at: www.turkmenistaninfo.gov.tm/ru/course
