Deputy Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan Akhmet Gurbanov met with Deputy Foreign Minister of the Republic of Korea Lim Sang-woo in Ashgabat. The key topics of the dialogue were preparations for upcoming high-level visits and the current situation in the region.
During the talks, the diplomats noted the high dynamism of relations between the countries. Particular attention was paid to the role of political and consular consultations as a tool for "systemic adjustment" of the entire range of bilateral relations.
Gratitude for the "Humanitarian Corridor." A key highlight of the meeting was the exchange of views on the situation in the Middle East. Deputy Foreign Minister of the Republic of Korea Lim Sang-woo expressed official gratitude to the Turkmen side for its assistance in the transit of Korean citizens evacuated from Iran.
The gesture of gratitude comes amid reports that Turkmenistan has become a key security route in the region, with more than 200 people from 16 countries entering the country through the border as of March 4 alone.
