China and the United States are in contact on interactions between the two heads of state, said Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Mao Ning at a regular press briefing in Beijing on Monday.

Mao made the remarks in response to a media query about U.S. President Donald Trump's visit to China.

"China and the U.S. are in communication regarding interactions between the two heads of state," she said.
