In January 2026, more than 950,000 foreign citizens visited Uzbekistan. Interest in the country rose by 40% compared to last year. This means that in just one month, 271,000 more visitors arrived in the republic than in January of the previous year, Yuz.uz reports.
The main flow of visitors came from neighboring countries. The leader was the Kyrgyz Republic, with 282,798 arrivals. Citizens of Tajikistan also showed high activity with 244,373 visits, as well as Kazakhstan with 207,858 people. From Russia came 69,070 tourists, and from Afghanistan — 43,572 people.
The geography of visits also includes other important destinations. For example, during the month 28,150 citizens arrived from Turkmenistan and 25,666 from China. The top ten also included Türkiye with 12,740 visitors, India with 6,095 people, and the Republic of Korea with 3,237 arrivals.
The increase in tourist numbers creates new jobs in the service sector and stimulates infrastructure development, making travel around the country more comfortable for both foreign visitors and local residents.
