The total volume of bilateral trade between Türkiye and Turkmenistan from January to November 2025 amounted to approximately USD 2 billion, while both sides see significant potential for further growth. This was announced today by the Ambassador of Türkiye to Turkmenistan, Ahmet Demirok, at a press conference.

The diplomat emphasized that trade between the two countries continues to develop on the principles of mutual benefit, with the near-term goal being the achievement of a USD 5 billion trade turnover. In this context, the 12th annual exhibition of Turkish export products is scheduled to be held in Ashgabat in February, with the participation of more than 80 Turkish companies expected. The event will serve as a platform for establishing business ties and exchanging experience between entrepreneurs of the two countries.

Ahmet Demirok recalled that a similar exhibition was held in Türkiye for the first time in July 2025, which contributed to promoting Turkmen products in the Turkish market and strengthening bilateral economic cooperation. He also noted the important role of the Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation (IGEC / HEK), whose 8th session took place in Ankara in February 2025. The 9th session of the Commission is planned for April 2026 in Ashgabat.

The Ambassador also noted that Turkish companies are actively involved in the implementation of major infrastructure projects in Turkmenistan, including the construction of power plants, power transmission lines, highways, residential complexes, universities, schools, hospitals, shopping centers, and ports. Since Turkmenistan’s independence, Turkish companies have successfully completed more than 1,000 projects with a total value exceeding USD 54 billion.

According to Ahmet Demirok, projects worth approximately USD 10 billion are expected to be implemented in the coming years, including the second phase of the construction of the smart city of Arkadag, where Turkish companies are ready to continue participating in new initiatives.

The Ambassador of Türkiye emphasized that the contribution of Turkish companies to the development of Turkmenistan’s economy and infrastructure is a source of pride and strengthens the friendly and business ties between the two countries.
