Turkmenistan and Qatar Expand Partnership in High Technologies and Education

On January 27, a meeting between the Minister of Education of Turkmenistan, Jumamurat Gurbangeldiyev, and a delegation from the State of Qatar headed by Salem Nasser Al-Naimi, Rector of Doha University of Science and Technology was held in Ashgabat. This visit marked an important step in elevating educational cooperation between the two countries to a new level. This was reported on the official website of the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan.
The main outcome of the negotiations was the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the Institute of Telecommunications and Informatics of Turkmenistan and Doha University of Science and Technology of the State of Qatar. The document provides a legal framework for conducting joint research and launching student and faculty exchange programs.
During meetings with the heads of leading higher education institutions of the country, the parties outlined a plan of concrete actions. Particular attention was paid to the development of digital technologies, information security, the launch of innovative programs, and the implementation of joint scientific research.
The Qatari side expressed full readiness to put all initiatives into practical implementation. This confirms the seriousness of intentions and the long-term nature of the partnership between the educational institutions of the two countries.
This visit was a continuation of the agreements reached in Doha in 2024. Direct cooperation with Qatar will help enhance the prestige of national education and train world-class specialists for the digital economy.
