Ashgabat, January 25 | ORIENT. Turkmen equestrians once again confirmed their status as legends of the world circus. From January 16 to 25, Monte Carlo (Monaco) hosted the 48th International Circus Arts Festival, where the Galkynysh National Equestrian Group received special awards for its outstanding contribution to the world of circus arts.
The group's leader, Serdar Pygyyev, and Director of the State Circus of Turkmenistan, Serdar Gurbangulyev, attended the festival as guests of honor. In a formal ceremony, the delegation was presented with international certificates from the World Federation of Circus and the European Circus Association (ECA).
This recognition was a logical continuation of last year's triumph in Monaco, when our Akhal-Teke horsemen won the Grand Prix at the 47th festival, captivating the royal family and international critics.
The "Galkynyş" group, founded in 2007 on the initiative of National Leader of the Turkmen People, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, has amassed a unique collection of awards over the years. Among them:
"Idol" (Russia, 2013): Grand Prix of the World Festival;
Latin (Italy, 2014): Main Prize of the XVI International Festival;
Zhuhai (China, 2015): Gold Medal of the II International Festival;
"On the Fontanka" (St. Petersburg, 2018): Golden Gaetano Statuette.
The new awards from Monte Carlo became a symbolic start to 2026, which is taking place in Turkmenistan under the motto "Independent Neutral Turkmenistan – the Homeland of Purposeful Winged Horses." Today, Akhal-Teke horses and the skill of the Galkynysh group remain the best "ambassadors" of Turkmen culture on the world stage.
