The 5th International Forum "Transport Logistics of the Caspian Region" will be held in Astrakhan on April 15-16, 2026. The event will bring together hundreds of delegates to find answers to pressing issues faced by the transport industry last year.
Despite the strategic status of the North-South Corridor, 2025 has revealed a number of systemic challenges. Many companies have found themselves on the brink of profitability due to unexpected duties, quotas, and fleet shortages. The forum in Astrakhan is intended to serve as a platform for businesses and government agencies to agree on specific optimization mechanisms.
Key discussion topics:
Cross-border barriers: How to simplify document flow and settlements with Central Asian countries.
Infrastructure deficit: Limitations on port capacity and rail availability.
Risks and profitability: Finding solutions to protect businesses from sudden changes in market conditions.
Format and participants: The forum program is divided into two sections: business tours of the region's logistics facilities on April 15, and a plenary day with expert presentations on April 16. Participants include representatives of ports, shipowners, railway operators, and investors.
For Turkmenistan, which is actively developing the capacity of the Turkmenbashi port and land routes as part of the North-South Cooperation, participation in such discussions is an opportunity to consolidate its status as a key transit hub and synchronize its efforts with its Caspian neighbors.
