ASHGABAT | ORIENT. In anticipation of 2026, a delegation from the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan paid a working visit to the Customs Institute of Uzbekistan in Tashkent. This meeting marked an important milestone in the implementation of the strategy to digitalize customs processes and train a new generation of specialists.
The main topic of the exchange of experience was not only the curriculum but also the implementation of electronic knowledge monitoring systems. Turkmen specialists thoroughly studied their neighbors' experience in using ICT and specialized simulators that allow them to simulate real-life border situations right in the classroom.
The visit resulted in the agreement on a cooperation plan for 2026. Priorities include: joint educational events and online sessions; sharing teaching methods for complex customs regimes; and synchronizing approaches to personnel training in the context of growing trade turnover between the countries.
A representative of the Turkmen side also gave a lecture to their Uzbek colleagues on current issues related to customs regimes.
