Chinese technology company Ant Group has launched the AI assistant LingGuang, which allows users to quickly create mini-applications from text prompts. Within just four days of its release, the app surpassed 1 million downloads, making it a key player in the global AI race.
The success of LingGuang highlights the growing demand for no-code solutions — enabling users without deep programming knowledge to create apps. At times, Ant Group even had to limit access to the service due to high demand.
LingGuang ranked first in the free utilities category on China’s App Store. Unlike other tools that generate code, LingGuang provides each user with their “personal AI developer” who creates and customizes ready-made mini-apps.
According to Ant Group, users actively edit the generated applications (an average of six steps per session). LingGuang’s Chief Technology Officer, Cai Wei, noted that this is the first mobile app in the industry to allow such easy generation and customization of functional applications. This year, Ant Group doubled its AI investments to accelerate the development of advanced models.
