First Tesla Diner opens in Los Angeles: retro-futurism meets EV charging

The inaugural Tesla Diner, a restaurant seamlessly blending the aesthetics of 1950s drive-in theaters and American diners with cutting-edge technology, has officially opened in Los Angeles.

This establishment embraces a retro-futuristic design and introduces several innovative features:

• A humanoid robot named Optimus operates the popcorn station.

• Food is served in miniature Cybertrucks.

• The parking lot is equipped with Supercharger V4 charging stations.

• Two massive LED screens encircling the building function as a fully operational drive-in cinema.

The Tesla Diner primarily caters to Tesla electric vehicle owners. According to Elon Musk, the drive-in cinema's audio system synchronizes directly with Tesla vehicles' sound systems, enabling comfortable movie viewing during charging sessions. Furthermore, orders can be placed via Tesla vehicle displays and will be delivered directly to the parking lot by staff.

Currently, this initial Tesla Diner serves as a pilot project. Should it prove successful, Elon Musk, the American entrepreneur, engineer, and billionaire, intends to expand this diner chain. He plans to open locations in major cities worldwide, particularly where Supercharger stations are already established. This expansion includes a publicly accessible cafe at the Starbase launch site in Texas.
