Oriented on making people closer

On May 14, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov met with head of the Malaysian oil and gas company Petronas Tan Sri Tengku Muhammad Taufik. The conversation was a continuation of the course on deepening the partnership between the two countries, especially in the energy sector.

Petronas is one of the oldest and most reliable foreign partners of Turkmenistan. The company began its operations in the country in 1996 and since then has been actively involved in projects to develop hydrocarbon deposits on the Caspian shelf. In addition to oil and gas production, Petronas provides support in training personnel for the national oil and gas industry.

As the President emphasized, Turkmenistan attaches great importance to the development of ties with Malaysia and is interested in expanding cooperation in new areas.

The head of state noted that successful projects with the participation of Petronas are an example of effective international cooperation that contributes not only to economic growth, but also to strengthening the country's technological potential.

During the meeting, the parties discussed the prospects for implementing new joint initiatives, including the introduction of advanced production technologies, environmentally friendly developments and expanding cooperation in the field of training specialists.

The economic significance of such contacts is obvious - the influx of investment, the modernization of production facilities, the creation of jobs and the strengthening of Turkmenistan's export potential make it possible to strengthen the country's position in the global energy market.

The head of Petronas expressed gratitude for the trust and assured that the company intends to continue to fulfill its obligations, remaining a strategic partner of Turkmenistan.

At the end of the meeting, President Berdimuhamedov confirmed his readiness to further expand fruitful cooperation, emphasizing that it serves the interests of both countries and contributes to the development of long-term bilateral relations.
