Inspired by the heritage and looking to the future: about concerts of students of the TNC named after Maya Kulieva
20.04.2025 | 17:55 |"Young people are our future, our hope. We must educate them in the spirit of patriotism, love for the Motherland, respect for the culture and art of our people" - these words of the President of Turkmenistan, emphasizing the importance of developing the young generation and preserving the cultural heritage, serve as the leitmotif of the activities of the Turkmen National Conservatory named after Maya Kulieva.
For several years, on the initiative of the head of the chamber ensemble department, senior teacher Maral Bayramovna Agaeva, a large-scale project has been implemented at the conservatory - twice during the academic year, teachers and students of the department perform a series of concerts both in the capital and the velayats and etraps of Turkmenistan. The best students of the special piano and string instruments departments take part in the concerts.
In recent years, the teachers of the chamber ensemble department and their students - future professional musicians have visited all special schools of arts in the country, performed in many children's schools of arts. Their concerts feature duets (violin and piano), trios (violin, cello and piano) of old and modern foreign composers, Turkmen authors, popular classics. It is remarkable that there are often cases when modern Turkmen composers trust young musicians with premiere performances of their new works.
However, the purpose of creative trips is not only concert tours around the country. The teachers of the department pursue another serious goal: in addition to concerts, these creative meetings necessarily include master classes and methodological assistance to teachers of secondary specialized and children's art schools. This practice helps to strengthen creative ties between the conservatory and pre-university levels of musical education. Visiting concerts, master classes, open lessons and consultations conducted by teachers and students provide invaluable support to teachers of music colleges and children's schools, and contribute to raising the level of musical education in the country.
Such concerts are also important for the participants of the concerts themselves - students of the conservatory. For them, this is an invaluable experience of independent performances on stage, an opportunity to hone their skills, feel like real artists and contribute to the development of the musical culture of Turkmenistan.
For young musicians from the regions, this is a unique opportunity to touch the world of high art and get an incentive for further improvement. Meetings with leading teachers of the conservatory, who are also performers with many years of concert practice experience, attending their master classes and consultations help to gain new knowledge and skills, strengthen faith in their strengths and capabilities.
This spring, concerts and consultations organized by the chamber ensemble department of the Turkmen National Conservatory named after Maya Kulieva are held in the Akhal velayat, the city of Arkadag and Ashgabat. Listeners can expect meetings with beautiful music, and teachers and students can also have serious conversations about the art of ensemble performance.
"Ultimately," notes Maral Bayramovna, "such creative and methodological initiatives contribute to the formation of a new generation of talented musicians who, I am sure, will worthily represent Turkmen art on the world stage. We dedicate our concerts to the motto of the year: “International Year of Peace and Trust”.
