On April 3, 2025, a meeting took place between the Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Ukraine, concurrently accredited to the Republic of Moldova, Toyly Atayev, and the State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Moldova, Sergei Mihov.

During the meeting at the Moldovan Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the parties discussed current areas of cooperation, including trade and economic, cultural and humanitarian fields, as well as education and tourism.

Particular attention was paid by the interlocutors to the issue of activating bilateral political and inter-parliamentary consultations. In this regard, a schedule of high-level meetings for the coming year was agreed upon, including the next meeting of the Intergovernmental Turkmen-Moldovan Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the Turkmen diplomat invited the leadership of the Republic of Moldova to participate in the International High-Level Forum "Peace and Trust" in honor of the celebration of the 30th anniversary of the Neutrality of Turkmenistan, which is scheduled to be held in the Turkmen capital on December 12 of this year.
