Embassy of Turkmenistan took part in the festival of national dishes and cultures in London
24.03.2025 | 18:45 |On March 19, the Embassy of Turkmenistan in the UK took part in the event "Festival of International Food and Cultures" organized by the Foreign and Commonwealth Office of the United Kingdom for diplomatic missions accredited in the UK. The event was held at Lancaster House in central London.
The reception was attended by Minister of State for Foreign Affairs of the United Kingdom Catherine West, Marshal of the Diplomatic Corps Alistair Harrison, Head of the Diplomatic Directorate of the Foreign and Commonwealth Office and Vice Marshal Victoria Busby, members of the British Parliament, ambassadors and representatives of diplomatic missions.
In her speech, Minister Catherine West noted that this event contributes to strengthening ties between diplomatic missions and helps to better understand different cultures through diplomacy.
As part of the event, an exhibition was organized at Lancaster House, which presented national Turkmen costumes, jewelry, as well as the books "Arkadag", "Ak şäherim Aşgabat" ("My white city Ashgabat"), "Türkmen tagamlary" ("Turkmen cuisine") and publications dedicated to the economic development of Turkmenistan.
Guests of the event were offered traditional Turkmen dishes along with the cuisines of other nations.
Musical performances from various countries were also held. A folk song was performed on the national Turkmen instrument dutar, which was met with enthusiastic applause.
