Ashgabat will host the 7th Central Asian Conference on Climate Change
19.03.2025 | 15:20 |The 7th Central Asian Conference on Climate Change (CACCC-2025) will take place from May 13 to 15, 2025, in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan. This event is being organized by the Regional Environmental Centre for Central Asia (CAREC) in partnership with the Government of Turkmenistan, with the support of the World Bank project "Resilient Landscape Restoration Project in Tajikistan" (RESILAND Tajikistan), the Central Asia Water and Energy Program (CAWEP), and the Regional Programme "Climate Risk Management in Central Asia" of the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ).
The main theme of the conference, which aims to discuss climate change issues in the region, is "Achieving the Global Goal on Climate Finance through Regional and National Actions in Central Asia". The conference will focus on the importance of transforming financial commitments agreed upon at the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change in Baku into concrete actions, as well as on strengthening regional cooperation to enhance climate resilience.
Participants will discuss the progress of Central Asian countries in climate change mitigation, the development of the third version of Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs 3.0), as well as the attraction and effective management of climate finance. The conference is expected to serve as a platform for the exchange of experience and innovations in the field of climate solutions, which will help the countries of the region adapt to climate challenges and achieve sustainable development.
