The volume of mutual trade between Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan through the “Shabat” border trade center continues to grow steadily, according to the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan.
In the first quarter of this year (January–March), approximately 60,000 citizens of Uzbekistan visited the trade zone. The volume of Turkmen exports through “Shabat” exceeded 1,700 tons. The most in-demand goods included confectionery products, non-alcoholic beverages, fresh tomatoes, household chemicals, and textiles.
In turn, imports from Uzbekistan amounted to more than 250 tons. The main imported goods were dried fruits, household items, and Uzbek textiles.
It is worth noting that the “Shabat” trade center, opened in November 2025, operates under a special regime: all trade operations there are fully exempt from customs duties and other fees.
