Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty held a meeting on the reconstruction of the Neutrality Monument and the celebration of significant dates
16.02.2025 | 15:15 |On February 15, the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov held a working meeting with the participation of members of the Cabinet of Ministers within the framework of the Organizing State Committee for holding high-level events on the occasion of the announcement of 2025 as the International Year of Peace and Trust and the 30th anniversary of neutrality of Turkmenistan. The meeting discussed the reconstruction of the Neutrality Monument and related issues.
Near the Neutrality Monument, which is located in the southern part of the capital, the Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty was presented with draft reconstruction projects for consideration. Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Baymyrat Annamammedov, who supervises the construction and industrial complex, reported on the work on landscaping and greening the areas adjacent to the Neutrality Monument, projects for road and transport infrastructure facilities under construction and modernization, including a roundabout at the intersection of Bitarap Turkmenistan and Chandybil Avenues, as well as a mudflow channel and a park area.
The National Leader of the Turkmen people, having carefully reviewed the submitted projects, made a number of comments and made the appropriate corrections. Noting that when landscaping the areas adjacent to buildings and structures and planting tree seedlings within their boundaries, it is necessary to take into account local natural features and the achievements of modern science, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov instructed several important recommendations on this matter.
The National Leader of the Turkmen people noted the advisability of creating a museum of the history of Turkmen neutrality in this place. Particular attention should be paid to the introduction of innovative technologies in the construction and modernization of road and transport infrastructure. The symbols and colors of the UN flag should become an integral part of the new monument to Neutrality.
Then, during a working meeting with the participation of members of the Cabinet of Ministers, the head of the Halk Maslahaty listened to reports on the program for celebrating the Neutrality Day of Turkmenistan. As noted, preparations for organizing the significant date have been widely carried out in all structures of the country, whose neutrality has been twice recognized by special resolutions of the UN General Assembly.
Large-scale preparatory work is underway for the celebrations, including organizing a high-level reception of guests, cultural events, improving service in retail outlets and actively involving young people, the TDH news agency reported.
