The importance of Neutrality of Turkmenistan has been discussed in Almaty
03.02.2025 | 11:25 |Events dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the Turkmen Public-Cultural Center in Almaty and the 30th anniversary of the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan were held at the House of Friendship in Almaty. The event was attended by representatives of the Humanitarian Association of the Turkmen World, the Deputy Chairman of the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan, representatives of diplomatic missions accredited in Kazakhstan, the President of the Fund for the Culture of Turkic Peoples, ethnocultural centers of the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan, media, public figures, representatives of the Almaty City Akimat and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
During the event, a representative of the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Kazakhstan spoke about the significance of Turkmenistan's neutrality, which also marks its 30th anniversary this year.
The presentation highlighted that the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s neutrality coincides with the United Nations General Assembly's declaration of the "International Year of Peace and Trust" reflecting the growing importance of the legal status of neutral states in the modern world. This status was enshrined in 1995 and has since become a key element of Turkmenistan's foreign policy strategy, based on the principles of good neighborliness, equality, and mutual understanding.
2025 has been officially designated as the "International Year of Peace and Trust" in Turkmenistan. The slogan reflects the essence of the country’s foreign policy course and its commitment to creating conditions for sustainable peace. The symbol of the year has also been approved, which will be an important element of the upcoming celebrations. A video about Turkmenistan’s Neutrality was presented to the participants.
