 Training for English language teachers held at the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan

The Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan, in collaboration with the U.S. Embassy, organized a series of workshops as part of the "English Language Specialist" program. The events are taking place at the International University for the Humanities and Development.

Significant efforts are currently being made to improve the quality of foreign language teaching in accordance with international standards. Special attention is being given to enhancing teaching methods, studying advanced international practices, implementing innovative techniques into the educational process, and increasing the professional skills, creativity, and methodological abilities of teachers.

The workshops, focused on teaching English in secondary schools, have allowed educators to improve their qualifications in innovative teaching methods. Staff from the National Institute of Education of Turkmenistan also discussed important issues related to the development of curricula and materials, as well as modern requirements for lesson planning.

The seminars were conducted by Professor Beth Clark-Gareka, a Doctor of Education from the State University of New York. She shared her extensive experience in English language teaching methodology with her Turkmen colleagues.

During the seminars, key topics were discussed, including the history of English language teaching methodology, student motivation in the classroom, task-based language teaching, and other effective approaches.
