Samsung announces Galaxy S25 Smartphone launch date – four models to be released

Samsung has officially announced the launch date for its new Galaxy S25 smartphones. The presentation will take place on January 22, 2025, as part of the annual Galaxy Unpacked event, to be held in San Jose, California, USA.

It is expected that four models will be presented on this day: the Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25+, Galaxy S25 Ultra, and a completely new Galaxy S25 Slim.

All devices will feature rounded corners, a design change compared to the angular design of previous models. The Galaxy S25 Ultra will be equipped with a 6.8-inch display, while the Galaxy S25 Slim will feature a 6.66-inch display and a 5000 mAh battery. The all-new Galaxy S25 Slim will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite processor and equipped with a camera system combining a 200-megapixel main sensor with two 50-megapixel sensors (ultrawide and telephoto). To reduce the thickness of the body, the Galaxy S25 Slim will not have wireless charging capability.

The Galaxy S25 Ultra will retain its 6.8-inch display. The 50-megapixel ultrawide camera will be updated; otherwise, the cameras of the new Samsung flagship will not differ from its predecessor. The Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite processor will be combined with 16 GB of RAM. Buyers of this smartphone will also receive free access to the Google Gemini Advanced AI service for one year and 2 TB of Google Drive cloud storage.

All smartphones will run on Android 15 with One UI 7 and will receive 7 years of update support.

The presentation will be broadcast live through the Samsung Newsroom portal and on the company's official social media channels.
