 President Serdar Berdimuhamedov received the Ambassador of the Republic of Belarus to Turkmenistan

President Serdar Berdimuhamedov received newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to Turkmenistan Stanislav Chepurny, who presented his credentials to the head of state.

The diplomat conveyed to the President, as well as to National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Khalk Maslakhaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, cordial greetings and best wishes from the President of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko, who confirmed his country's commitment to the traditionally friendly interstate dialogue.

Having conveyed warm greetings and good wishes in return to the Belarusian leader, the head of state congratulated the ambassador on his appointment to a responsible diplomatic post. Expressing confidence that during the implementation of this important mission, the plenipotentiary representative of Belarus will do everything possible to strengthen and develop fruitful bilateral cooperation, Serdar Berdimuhamedov wished him success in his work.

During the meeting, an interested exchange of views took place on the current state and prospects of Turkmen-Belarusian relations based on the principles of equality, mutual respect, trust and constructive partnership. In this regard, it was noted with satisfaction that our countries are actively interacting not only bilaterally, but also multilaterally, within the framework of international and regional organizations, including the UN and the CIS.

Along with this, great importance is attached to strengthening the interstate humanitarian dialogue. Close cooperation between Turkmenistan and the Republic of Belarus in the field of education and science, sports, culture contributes to deepening the ties of friendship between the two countries and peoples.

The diplomat assured that he would make every effort to further strengthen traditional Turkmen-Belarusian relations and build up mutually beneficial partnership, the Neutral Turkmenistan newspaper reports.

Stanislav Chepurnoy is an experienced diplomat with many years of experience in the system of international cooperation and trade. Before his appointment to Turkmenistan, he held the post of head of the Department of International Cooperation and Trade of the Office of the Council of Ministers of Belarus.

Chepurnoy already has successful experience in leading a foreign diplomatic mission. In 2014, he was appointed Ambassador of Belarus to Mongolia, where he worked until 2021.

The appointment of a new ambassador to Turkmenistan is seen as a step towards deepening economic and political cooperation between Minsk and Ashgabat. Turkmenistan and Belarus traditionally cooperate in agriculture, industry and education.
