Microsoft to invest $80 billion in AI data centers
04.01.2025 | 12:10 |Microsoft has announced plans to invest $80 billion in artificial intelligence (AI)-focused data centers during the 2025 fiscal year. This statement was made by Microsoft President Brad Smith.
These investments are aimed at building the necessary infrastructure for training and deploying AI models, a need that has become particularly urgent following the surge in interest in AI, triggered by the launch of ChatGPT in 2022.
Brad Smith emphasized that the company is actively collaborating with OpenAI and other startups, allowing it to stay at the forefront of the technological race.
In the first quarter of 2025, Microsoft already increased its infrastructure spending by 5.3%, indicating the company's readiness to strengthen its market position. These investments will also help Microsoft integrate AI into its cloud solutions and applications, such as Windows and Teams, making them more competitive in the face of growing demand for AI technologies.
