 The 7th China International Import Expo opened in Shanghai

The 7th China International Import Expo has opened in Shanghai. This is reported by Xinhua News Agency.

The exhibition is organized by the Ministry of Commerce of the People's Republic of China and the People's Government of Shanghai.

This year's EXPO gathered 3496 exhibitors from 129 countries and regions, including 297 enterprises from the Fortune Global 500 list. This is a new record in the history of the Expo.

It demonstrates over 400 new products, technologies and services. The exhibition is divided into the following zones: food and agricultural products, automobiles, technical equipment, consumer goods, medical equipment, medical technology and healthcare products, and trade in services.

The opening ceremony of the exhibition and the International Economic Forum "Hongqiao" featured a keynote speech by Li Qiang, Premier of the State Council of the People's Republic of China.

The 7th China International Import Expo will run until 10 November.

The initiative for the China International Import Expo was born at the “One Belt and One Road” International Cooperation Forum in Beijing in May 2017, when Chinese President Xi Jinping proposed to hold the international import expo in Shanghai on a regular basis from 2018.
