 Brussels hosts gala reception to mark 33rd anniversary of Turkmenistan's independence

On September 27, the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Brussels hosted a gala reception to mark the 33rd anniversary of Turkmenistan's independence. The event brought together a wide range of participants, including ambassadors from more than 20 countries, representatives of the diplomatic corps of Brussels, EU structures, the Belgian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as well as heads of think tanks, the business community, the media and cultural organizations.

The event began with a welcome to the guests. As a sign of respect for the participating countries, the anthems of Turkmenistan, Belgium and the European Union were played, setting the tone for the evening event.

In his speech, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan to Belgium Sapar Palvanov noted the country's successes over the years of independence and emphasized the importance of bilateral relations with Belgium and the EU in various areas, including politics, economics and culture. He also thanked the guests for their interest in developing cooperation and maintaining friendly ties with Turkmenistan.

Next, the floor was given to Jeroen Coreman, Director General for Bilateral Affairs at the Belgian Foreign Ministry. He stressed the importance of strengthening ties between Turkmenistan and Belgium, noting areas of cooperation and common values ​​based on the desire for peace that both countries share.

One of the highlights of the evening was the presentation of a cultural project - a music video, created with the support of the Embassy of Turkmenistan. The video clip with local rap artist Tony symbolized the cultural dialogue between Turkmenistan and Belgium and evoked a positive response from all present.

Continuing the theme of cultural exchange, a mini-fashion show was held by the fashion house "Mengli Secrets" from the Netherlands. The show featured modern models inspired by traditional Turkmen clothing, which emphasized the rich cultural history of Turkmenistan and its relationship with fashion trends.

The musical program of the evening was also rich. The performance of local violinist and composer Annette Homann was a bright highlight of the evening. Her interpretation of the works of one of the most famous composers of Turkmenistan, Nury Halmamedov, amazed with depth and emotionality and immersed the audience in the world of Turkmen music.

Also, at the evening, Turkmen singer Yazmyrat Garlyev performed both traditional and modern songs, creating a warm and sincere atmosphere for the guests.

The reception ended with informal communication of the guests, accompanied by a tasting of traditional dishes of Turkmen cuisine. The guests were given the opportunity to enjoy the culinary heritage of Turkmenistan, which became the final chord of the evening.

The gala reception in Brussels not only marked a significant date in the life of Turkmenistan, but also demonstrated the actively developing cultural and diplomatic contacts between Turkmenistan and the world countries.
