 On Independence Day in Turkmenistan, 736 convicted citizens were pardoned

In Turkmenistan, 736 convicted citizens were pardoned in honor of Independence Day. They will be released from prison in accordance with the decree signed by President Serdar Berdimuhamedov.

The head of state signed the decree on pardon at an enlarged meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers with the participation of members of the State Security Council. This was reported in a news broadcast by Turkmen Television.

Turkmenistan traditionally holds a pardon initiative on the eve of significant national and state holidays. This time the action of pardoning convicts is held in honor of the 33rd anniversary of the country's independence.
