Oriented on making people closer

The Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) has opened in Beijing.

In his keynote speech, Chinese President Xi Jinping stressed the importance of strengthening ties between China and Africa. He proposed a new level of strategic partnership aimed at modernization and prosperity for both sides, China Daily reported.

Xi Jinping noted that China-Africa friendship has deep roots and has lasted for decades. China and Africa share common goals and challenges, including the pursuit of modernization.

The chairman highlighted six key areas of cooperation. In particular, fair and equitable modernization; mutually beneficial cooperation; free and full human development; cultural exchange and inclusiveness; green development; peace and security.

The FOCAC 2024 Summit marked a milestone in the China-Africa partnership, highlighting the mutual pursuit of sustainable development and prosperity. The six key areas proposed by Xi Jinping cover a wide range of joint work, from economic cooperation to security and environmental issues. These areas reflect the aspiration to build a fair, inclusive and peaceful global system in which African countries can realize their potential on the world stage.
