 In Ashgabat, the possibilities of cooperation with the largest Pakistani company FWO were considered

Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov met with Kashif Nazir, director and chief engineer of "Frontier Works Organization" (FWO) of Pakistan, on Thursday, 22 August.

"The parties considered the possibilities of establishing partnership in the sphere of urban development, improvement of road and transport infrastructure, construction of irrigation systems," the Foreign Ministry's press service reported.

The participants of the meeting exchanged views on cooperation in view of the planned large-scale projects in Turkmenistan and taking into account the successful long-term experience of FWO.

The Frontier Works Organization was founded in 1966 to build a land link through the world's highest mountain ranges, the Karakoram Highway, also known as the Eighth Wonder of the World. Since then, it has come a long way and has progressed significantly to become one of the largest firms in Pakistan today, specialising in numerous areas of civil engineering. The organization has also successfully completed construction and rehabilitation projects in Kuwait, Afghanistan, Liberia and the UAE.

The primary areas of FWO's operations include: highways and roads, power plants and transmission lines, tunnel construction, dam building and irrigation development, railway infrastructure, airports and ports, and bridges and flyovers.
