Presentation of Samsung Galaxy Unpacked 2024: foldable smartphones and smart ring

Korean tech giant Samsung held a major event in Paris called Galaxy Unpacked.

As part of this event, a number of new products were announced - from a smart ring to smartphones with a flexible display Galaxy Z Fold6 and Galaxy Z Flip6 and headphones.

In addition, the South Korean manufacturer announced an exclusive version of the Galaxy Z Flip6 Olympic Edition. All participants in the upcoming Olympic and Paralympic Games, which will be held in France this summer, will receive it. Samsung has been donating exclusive smartphones to Olympic participants since 2016, but this year athletes will receive devices even before they officially hit the market.

To ensure that athletes can use their Galaxy Z Flip6 Olympic Edition immediately upon receipt, each smartphone is equipped with an eSIM with the ability to use 100 GB of free data on 5G networks provided by the Orange operator.

Compared to last year's versions, the design of the new Galaxy Z Fold and Galaxy Z Flip clamshells has not changed much. The main thing is the new hinge, which is responsible for folding/unfolding the device. It became more resistant to impacts and received protection against the penetration of external particles, which over time became clogged in smartphones, and the crease on the flexible screen became more noticeable. Now the fold, when open, is almost invisible on both devices.

At Galaxy Unpacked 2024, they showed the new Galaxy Watch7 and Galaxy Watch Ultra, wireless TWS headphones Galaxy Buds3 Pro and Samsung Galaxy Buds3.

All devices except the ring will go on sale at retail on July 24th.

Much attention at the event was paid to Galaxy AI - Samsung's own artificial intelligence. Galaxy AI, which appeared at the beginning of this year. The company believes that it will become a sales driver for all of the company's products.
