 The St. Petersburg International Economic Forum opened in Russia

The St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, one of the largest and most significant business events in the world, began its work at the Expoforum Convention and Exhibition Center.

This year the main theme of the forum will be “The basis of multipolarity - the formation of new centers of growth.”

The main business program of the forum is divided into four thematic blocks - “Transition to a multipolar model of the world economy”, “Russian economy: goals and objectives of the new cycle”, “Technologies that provide leadership” and “Healthy society, traditional values and social development - state priorities”.

In addition to the main topic, the forum will raise issues of international cooperation in various sectors of the economy with the BRICS and SCO countries, and discuss the possibilities of developing the Northern Sea Route as an international transport corridor.

The event program includes more than 150 activities in various formats - plenary session, strategic sessions, discussions, business breakfasts, television debates and pitch sessions. In addition, the Drug Safety Forum, the Business Twenty Forum, the Creative Business Forum and the Youth Economic Forum will be held on the sidelines of SPIEF.

Urban Hub, an international discussion platform dedicated to the development of research and business cooperation in the field of urbanism, will discuss urban development concepts and new technologies. There will also be a “Healthy Society” themed space.

More than 10 intercountry business dialogues are planned within the framework of SPIEF. In particular, meetings are planned with representatives of the business communities of China, India, the UAE, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan, Latin America, Africa and ASEAN countries.

The opening ceremony of the forum will take place on June 6. Russian President Vladimir Putin will speak at the plenary session of the forum on June 7.

The work of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum will end on June 8.
