 The Council of Heads of Government of the CIS member states will discuss 12 issues in Ashgabat

On Tuesday, May 21, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan held a meeting with CIS Secretary General Sergei Lebedev, who arrived in the Turkmen capital to discuss preparations for the upcoming high-level meeting within the CIS.

During the meeting, the parties discussed organizational issues related to the holding of the Council of Heads of Government of the CIS member states in Ashgabat on Friday, May 24.

The draft agenda for the meeting includes 12 issues. Traditionally, in a narrow format, Council members will exchange views on current topics of economic interaction in the Commonwealth.

It is proposed to discuss in a broad format the draft Concept of cooperation in the energy sector and the Plan of priority measures for its implementation, as well as the Action Plan for optimizing infrastructure and developing international transport corridors passing through the territories of the CIS member states.

In addition, at the meeting it is planned to adopt a number of documents relating to cooperation in the field of healthcare, the chemical industry, hazardous waste management and combating violations in the field of intellectual property.

Another issue on the agenda of the Council of Heads of Government is the declaration of Ashgabat as the City of New Sports Opportunities of the Commonwealth.
