 A business forum of Turkmen-Japanese small and medium-sized entrepreneurs was held in Japan

On March 27, a business forum was held in Tokyo in the building of the Foreign Trade Organization of Japan. The event was attended by representatives and heads of ministries, departments, banking institutions and the private sector of Turkmenistan and Japan - 30 from the Turkmen side and more than 100 from the Japanese side.

At the beginning of the forum, head of the Foreign Trade Organization of Japan Norihiko Ishiguro, State Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan Mr. Ryosukr Kozuke and executive director of the Turkmen-Japanese joint Turkmen-Japanese organization Masumi Hara spoke. They gave a positive assessment of trade and economic relations between Turkmenistan and Japan, and noted that Japanese companies are showing great interest in the constantly growing Turkmen market.

In their speeches, the Turkmen side emphasized Turkmenistan’s readiness for full cooperation with Japan. In particular, it was noted that there are great opportunities for cooperation in the development of trade and economic relations, oil and gas and petrochemical, chemical and textile, food industry, energy, agriculture, transport and logistics, financial and banking sectors. It was also proposed to study the possibility of opening a trade mission of Turkmenistan in Japan and a representative office of the Foreign Trade Organization of Japan in Turkmenistan.

In order to organize direct connections between the Turkmen-Japanese business circles, it was proposed to hold business conferences, exhibitions, and business visits.

This will contribute to the development of bilateral relations, create opportunities for familiarization with projects, industrial zones and enterprises being implemented in Turkmenistan, as well as for meetings with business groups.

As part of the forum, a presentation of the national pavilion of Turkmenistan, which will be organized at the World Exhibition EXPO 2025, to be held in Osaka in 2025, took place.

Ichinoki Manatsu, Deputy Secretary General of the World Exhibition Association of Japan "EXPO 2025", in his speech said that preparations for the World Exhibition "EXPO 2025" are currently underway. Stressing that the construction of the national pavilion of Turkmenistan complies with all rules and requirements and is being carried out on time, he stated that in November 2023, Turkmenistan was one of the first to receive land allocated for the national pavilion and began construction on time.

As part of the Turkmen-Japanese business forum of small and medium-sized entrepreneurs, a Memorandum of Cooperation was signed between the Ministry of Trade and Foreign Economic Relations of Turkmenistan and the Foreign Trade Organization of Japan.

On the sidelines of the forum, a number of bilateral meetings took place between the Turkmen and Japanese delegations.

Delegates from the land of the rising sun were invited to the Turkmen capital to hold the next Turkmen-Japanese business forum.

During the meetings held within the framework of the forum, the leaders of the Japanese side were presented with a book by Hero of Arkadag Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov “Ömrümiň manysynyň dowamaty”, translated into Japanese.
