Oriented on making people closer

In addition to the main monument embodying the image of the great Turkmen poet and philosopher in a giant statue, sculptures of classics of literature from other countries will be installed in the Magtymguly Pyragy cultural and park complex, which is being created in the south of Ashgabat.

Deputy Prime Minister Mahrijemal Mammedova reported on the preparations for the opening ceremony of the Magtymguly Pyragy cultural and park complex at a meeting of the Turkmen government on Friday. She also informed the head of state and members of the Cabinet of Ministers about plans to install sculptures of famous personalities, prominent writers and masters of the word of foreign countries in this park, the national news service reported.

Summarizing the report, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov said that the monuments to outstanding foreign poets and writers in the park complex, which will be inaugurated on the occasion of the 300th anniversary of Magtymguly, will become a symbol of respect for the universal cultural heritage.
