The Black Rabbit will be replaced by the Green Dragon, which is rightfully considered one of the most majestic creatures. They say that it has a wayward character, encourages determination, responsibility and denies frivolity and wastefulness. We at ORIENT don’t really believe in all sorts of superstitions and mysticism, but on New Year’s Eve everything is different, and the fewer hours left before it, the more our disbelief in the magical effect of New Year’s rituals dissipates. Therefore, we decided to find out how to win over the 2024 talisman and what symbolism to use when making wishes.

On all the resources where we looked for information, we were reminded of the key traditions of the holiday:

• pay off all debts - the upcoming symbol of the New Year is considered a strict and categorical creature that values a responsible approach to business, especially when it comes to the financial sector. Do you strive for material wealth and prosperity? Then show the Dragon that you are a serious person and pay your bills on time;

• do some general cleaning - the Dragon values order and neatness, so you should invite him only to a “brilliant” house, having first cleared all the premises of unnecessary things that emit negative energy;

• set a generous table - the upcoming symbol of 2024 loves to eat tasty and satisfying food. Treat him to a variety of foods: cold cuts, baked dishes, fish, sweets, fruits. Then the Dragon will thank you in return.

Everything is clear with traditions, now about the main signs for the New Year:

• hang a decoration in the form of a golden key on the Christmas tree - and the Dragon, who loves wealth, will bring it to you on a platter in the New Year;

• put on the windowsill the stones that the fire-breathing creature loves, for example, amber, jasper, malachite, amethyst - this way you will attract good luck to the house;

• make sure that there are at least 12 different dishes on the table - you need to greet the majestic talisman, close to the Emperor himself, on a royal scale. The dragon will appreciate such a gesture and give prosperity;

• buy a piggy bank in the shape of the symbol of the year and put a few bills or coins in it so that you don’t have to worry about a lack of funds for the entire 12 months.

• open the windows on the night of December 31 to January 1, inviting the main symbol into the house, and place flower pots with beautiful plants on the windowsills, because the Dragon loves greenery and nature;

• place a coin under each plate on the New Year's table so that the year will be generous with monetary surprises;

• decorate the house with candles that will attract the Dragon, who loves the flame of fire, because with it happiness and love will come.

Such simple actions will help you program yourself for good luck, which will visit your home and stay there for a long time. Some also recommend that the tablecloth and decorations be red or green; they can probably be combined, like the signature colors of the Gucci brand.

It is also believed that one should not clean up the house a few hours before the chime, so as not to sweep away the happiness from it. Do not throw away the food that is left after the feast, because the Dragon does not tolerate waste. After all, it can be given to animal shelters, for example. And share the remaining food with those in need.

And one more thing: don’t be sad on New Year’s Eve, because tears and sadness on the eve of the holiday can return in the coming year. So have fun and surround your loved ones with love!
